Pull Up a Chair

I'm Sherry Palmer, a Kentucky author, humorist, pastor's wife, mother, and storyteller who has spent most of my life collecting stories. Some made me laugh until I cried. Some made me cry until I laughed. Most taught me something about faith, family, friendship, and the grace that often shows up when we least expect it.

For more than forty years, my husband Brad and I have shared the adventures of ministry, marriage, parenthood, and church life. Along the way we've moved, served congregations, raised a son, survived a few mishaps, celebrated countless blessings, and gathered enough stories to fill more than one book.

One of the greatest blessings of my life is our son, Charley, who has Down syndrome. His life, his perspective, and his sense of joy inspired my memoir Life with Charley, a book about family, love, and the unexpected gifts that often arrive in unusual packages.

My memoir The Preacher Takes a Wife: Better Call the Prayer Chain shares humorous and heartfelt stories from life as a pastor's wife. Church potlucks, prayer chains, kitchen disasters, unforgettable church ladies, and moments of unexpected grace all found their way into its pages.

I'm also working on Jesus, Take the Walker, a memoir about recovery, resilience, and discovering hope in places I never expected to find it.

When I'm not writing, you can usually find me spending time with family, speaking to groups, knitting, creating, painting, baking bread, drinking coffee with friends, or chasing the next story that insists on being told.

Thank you for stopping by The Hallelujah Holler.

Pull up a chair. The coffee's on, and there's always room at the table.
